Objective: Students will create their own limerick poem.
LIMERICK DEFINITION: A kind of humorous poem containing five lines. Rhyme Scheme is A-A-B-B-A. 1st, 2nd, and 5th lines all rhyme. They can be exact or near rhyme. They are about 8-12 syllables long on average. 3rd and 4th lines rhyme with each other and are shorter at about 4-7 syllables long on average. They can be exact or near rhyme. The limerick usually tells about a person or creature and sometimes cites a place where the character is from. The entire limerick must go together as if one short little story. Basically, keep the limerick about the same topic. Instructions
